What's inchoate? (because I'm too lazy to go to www.dictionary.com) So the illness starts as Dementia Gradstudius and gradually work its way up to Tenuritis? Is this a terminal illness?
i am going to have to erase all memories of these entries in a few years, you know. if i can't manage that i expect you to convince me that grad school is worth it:P
heh.. grad school is in fact worth it.. without question. The twisted humor is how I deal with the stress in a more positive way than freaking out. Is it easy? No. Is it fun? A lot of the time, but at times no. Does it guarantee a bright future? Not the way it used to. But if you have a passion for what you do, there is no substitute.. not even close. It is a real simple thing. If you are doing it for any reason other than passion you should not be doing it..
i was about to say that passion should be the main motivator behind anything.. but i don't believe that anymore. it's a relief to me that some things are still so pure to me and education is definitely one of them. i don't talk much about my passion for what i study and the joy i get from school, especially in this lj, but i'll just leave it at this: i've been dreaming about grad school for about as long as i had been college. i already have a few programs in mind.
It is good that you do have that passion. You should add me with the other journal too.. seeing undergrads passionate about school is good for my soul :)
