I am not personally affected by this and I totally missed out on most of the censorship drama that's been happening lately. But I stand at the same place as you. This is a very well-written entry. I will put it in my memory. Now, if you had the energy to write something this good, go study for your comps!

oddly in a way writing all of that did indirectly serve as comps study, the core of the issue may well be covered in my major field exams... lol

and yes I am on to the stuff I had been putting off (political theory/philosophy... Locke, Rousseau, Dahl etc)
