Today was a random self-improvement day. I spent most of the afternoon memorizing the hiragana and katakana alphabets in Japanese. I won't be able to speak decent Japanese until I actually have an opportunity to take lessons, but I think that I can make my Japanese as good as my Korean: the goal is to be able to read things aloud, regardless of ( Read more... )

Would languages like Pashtu and indigenous Congolese tongues be exempt from that standard? Competence with a machete/Kalishnikov would be something to require from U(C) students.

... Would they have to prove that the act was "of God" in order to use this agreement in court? I smell a theological revolution.
