I ate an orange in history, and everyone shouted at me. Who would have guessed that there was such a widespread vendetta against oranges? I love 'em. Everyone else's argument seemed to revolve around this idea that they smell bad. I think they smell really nice.

I have nothing against people who venture into the realms of orange-consumption. I personally tend not to partake in said activity because I cannot seem to do so without subsequently needing to wash my face. and hands. and maybe change my t-shirt.
They do smell nice though. S'long as they've not gone bad.

I guess the smell of oranges is either something you really love or really hate, and I'm proud to admit that I love the smell of oranges.

If I were you, I would've turned around and said "think yourself lucky I'm not eating egg or onion sandwiches" because people tend to complain about those a lot more readily.
