I don't know how many of you read this who won't have heard from other people already, but it's Film Unit's 60th anniversary this year, and they are apparently putting on some kind of reunion celebration on or around the 21st February. A bunch of old timers have fallen off my friends list; some of them are still there but probably don't read any ( Read more... )

I'll let purpletom know! There's a FU presence on Facebook - have I missed an invitation over there? There's a fair number of old-timers on there...

Actually, that is run by FU. D'oh! No, I think there's nothing on there yet.

I think they're still in the planning stages so far, sounding out interested parties and the like - they are also, apparently, looking for any FU memorabilia that they can get a loan of ("memories, photographs, programmes pre 1980, posters, archive films").

...have they all the stuff from the '90s then?
Mind you, guess they would have it 'coz of who did it. If not, there are some A3 (I think) programmes in our workshop, from about '96-'98

You're "a couple of others", along with mathcathy, andymariachi, kaickul, talma and terra012, plus a few others I can't be bothered to ferret out =). I didn't mention you by name because I wasn't sure if you read my journal. Rest assured that you were right up there on the list of people I thought should come, but the post was getting a little tedious with all the name checking.

I'll emphasise that the organisation is nothing to do with me - I'm 400 miles from Sheffield - and that everyone interested in coming should register their interest with Film Unit.
