Well, it appears that I've figured out why windows 7 was constantly fucking up and bluescreening... Apparently the hard drive was silently dying. I did a disk scan, and windows "fixed" a bunch of index errors. It then realized a rather vital chunk of the hard drive was apparently missing and wouldn't boot. Hey, check it out, I'm using Livejournal, flying in the face of digital obsolescence and my natural hermit tendencies.

I don't really have anything else witty to say, though. I'm just trying to chip away at bigger things bit by bit. I think that's about all that I'll be doing on any given day for the next three-four months.

Well, I supposed I'm finally getting somewhat used to windows 7. I can't quite say I'm in love, and something, I suspect flash, still occasionally causes bluescreens that completely kill the machine. Initial opinions of Windows 7 aren't exactly favorable. The install process was not quite painless, as Windows initially didn't want to recognize the hard drive I had for it. Apparently xp made it a dynamic disk and Windows 7 couldn't deal with it. The next problem was that the product key that came with the disk (brand new, mind you) came back as ( Read more... )
