yours're probably much better than mine. my most exciting hook is: listen to The New Yorker’s Fiction podcast of John Cheever’s “Reunion.”

and, i mean, i think that's pretty awesome, but i suspect that's a lonely sentiment.

i'm determined not to say things like, "listen, we have a lot to do today, so let's get down to business," at the beginning of class, because that's easily my number-one teacher pet peeve, but i know i'm going to slip and do it at least once.

i hope for your sake that by the next time i see you i won't be as tempted to keep working "secret ingredient: you!" into our conversation as i am right now.

ps i'm pretty sure 'wonderwall' is making a comeback.
