Timeline: During his coma. So basically he wakes up here.

Canon Resource Link: The wiki of the plot is here, but since it’s a bit fuzzy on the details and the climax of the movie is literally Michael’s last memory, I’ll go into a bit more detail here. It’s the last thing he knows happened, and therefore a big part of who he is when he wakes up

Personality: Michael is, at this point, more than a little messed in the head. As much as I might rag on the movie, it’s his character that makes him interesting, and is the real reason I want to play him. He is a strong alpha male, deeply mistrustful of people he doesn’t know but also ridiculously loyal to those he loves, quick to dive into danger to protect them even if he’s terrified and the odds are stacked against him. He’s no blisteringly tanned action hero, either - he is just a fairly normal teen dealing with some fairly normal teen issues (and some abnormal ones) who, when thrown into a dramatic, heightened situation, would rather step between the danger and the people he loves than run or cower, and would do so without a second thought - not even a thought as to whether or not it was badass. (In the movie canon, when David springs back to his feet after being stabbed in the neck and surprises the whole family in the hallway, Michael automatically and unconsciously steps forward to block his family from David’s view, legs

Powers & Abilities: Michael is a very strong and competitive swimmer. It keeps him fit (very), but may not do him much good when the waters are teeming with things he probably doesn’t want to encounter.

He’s also a very sharp kid, and keeps his head when backed into a corner. He’s a good improviser with whatever’s handy, and can very well ‘make do’.

Also, apparently he can wield a crowbar as a weapon. Because why not.

What items will they be bringing with them to Discedo? Since he will have been pulled out of a coma in canon, he could appear wearing only a hospital gown and with an oxygen tube hooked up in his nose, but I would prefer if it’s possible for him to come with nothing at all save some nondescript clothes, if it can be done?

Just to clarify: 'because why not' means 'because the writers of the movie said 'why not'' and therefore it is canon.

Michael is not overly friendly with strangers, but respectful enough. He tries, even, to give people more of a chance than is his natural instinct. He is generally polite, though clear he likes a safe distance between himself and people he meets.

It's father figures or male figures of authority he has the most trouble with, especially if they are trying to/are set to be authority figures in his life. It's not that he expects to see murderers around every corner, far from it, but upon meeting someone like that his mistrust would be obvious. They'd get the benefit of the doubt upon first meeting, but should he not like even one shade of their behaviour, those people get no second chances. Once someone fails this unofficial test, too, it would take a very, very long time for that person to redeem themselves in Michael's eyes. He has always been a very independent and self-sufficient boy - in many ways, even aside from his learned mistrust of authority figures, he doesn't feel he needs one to get on with his life.
