[ Gekkoukan High School into Tartarus | January 10th into the Dark Hour ]

Jan 14, 2008 01:41

Many long hours had came and slowly went, a lot of it spent pounding on the doors, begging for help, hoping that by some slight chance someone out there would hear. . . and in the end, nothing. Nobody had been this far out into the school so late in the day.

Fuuka gave up by the time the sun began to set. The lights in the gym were off, so she knew it wouldn't be long before it would be completely dark in the building. After one last bang on the door, Fuuka fell to her knees, leaning her tired body against it. She didn't even notice until now, but she was shaking; she exerted far more energy into that than she intended.

They really weren't going to come back, were they?

No, they probably completely forgot about what they had done to her.

Fuuka wiped at her eyes (again-- she could bet on them being horribly red), dropping her hands to her sides. She felt so weak and pathetic, and also had to wonder. . . would her parents notice? It figured she'd pick a day like this to accidentally leave her cell phone behind in her locker. Calling them-- or anyone, for that matter-- wasn't an option. If they did, would they know where to find her? Being locked inside the school gym was the last place even she expected to be.

She turned her back against the door, hugging her knees tight against her chest. "I'm sorry, Katori-kun. . ." she murmured miserably to herself, before her thoughts faded off. . .

What had to be hours later, her mind jerked back to consciousness. Fuuka blinked, but before realizing her surroundings had changed, noted it was still dark. She was still there.

. . . Or was she.

Her heart skipped a beat once she took a good look around. This. . . this wasn't the gym. This wasn't the school at all.

Immediately her wearyness, Fuuka shot to her feet. Where was this? A place like this didn't exist anywhere in Port Island as far as she knew, or Iwatodai. She needed to find out. There had to be an exit back outside somewhere.

Carefully, Fuuka took slow steps against the wall, peering just as cautiously around the corner. Unsurprisingly, she couldn't see very far, yet what she could still gave her chills. It was eerie, unfamiliar, and. . . weird. The architecture was by far the strangest she'd seen, and as she treaded down further the long hallway, noticed it felt much like a maze. At a split, she paused. Which way should she go? Unsure of her decision, she turned right.

There's a strong presence down there-- a monster.

Fuuka froze in her tracks. It was true; something was down in that direction. It wasn't human or any animal she'd ever heard about. 'Monster' was the most accurate description she had, although she had no idea how she could tell. It was strong, too. . . no, not the most powerful presence, but enough that Fuuka knew it was a bad idea to try to approach it.

Left was safer. Frowning slightly, she began in that direction. . .
