Explosion sound in Meriden

So, I've lived Meriden for about three years. Nearly every day I hear a loud exploding sound outside that echos for a second or two. Sometimes another follows shortly after. Does anybody know what this is? I'm just curious. Thanks.

Is it like a bell sound, or a real explosion sound? Is it loud enough to be scary, or just a funny annoying sound?

Its almost like cannon fire. Definitely not a bell. My father came over last night and heard it for the first time. I didn't have to point it out either. He was like "What the heck was that?" Its loud enough o be scary only te first couple times you hear it. Ive been hearing it about twice a night for a long time.

Sounds weird. I'd check with the neighbors first, and then the cops, if need be. The prospect of hearing canon-fire-like sounds regularly without an explanation isn't very enticing!

FYI, I have heard about this happening in various locations around the country particularly in the Midwest. I just tried to re-view videos from Hazard, KY and Clintonville (state unknown) but they have been PULLED from YouTube. Apparently someone in our government doesn't want someone connecting the dots!
