[Canada is peeking around the doorway into France's beautiful study. One arm is wrapped around Kumajirou, the other hand is shyly in front of his mouth.
He's lonely and wants to be with Papa, but he's working so hard...]

[Working hard, or hardly working? No, this is a rare day when France is actually kind of managing his affairs, aka checking his finances to make sure he's not too mired in debt. But he has a sharp sense of when he's needed (since how often does that happen, right?), and he turns around in his ornate chair to glance at the doorway.

Oh, little Canada. Always so timid!]

Ah, what are you doing all the way in the corner there?

[Canada gives a little start and blushes nervously]

I- I'm sorry, Papa. I d-didn't mean to dis-disturb you. I was just watching...?

[S-soooooo cuteeeeee. Papa France is just melting, Canada.

He turns his chair to face Canada, and pats his own lap.]

Just watching? Non, that should be remedied immediately!

[Canada hesitates for a moment - is it really okay? But then he happily runs forward. When he comes to Papa he waits patiently to be lifted up (his hands are full of Kumajirou so he can't climb up on his own. Sorry.)]

[And pick Canada up he does, holding him up towards the ceiling with a little laugh before settling the little child down on his lap. If only everyone accepted his affection like Canada did.]

[Canada gasps as France lifts him high, but laughs a little as he is set down. Carefully clutching Papa's shirt (he doesn't want to wrinkle it), he snuggles close to him and looks up, blushing. Oh- did he make Papa worry?]

I'm sorry, Papa. Nothing is wrong... Um... M-may I see what you're doing?

[Because this is what little kids do - they want to be like their parents and follow everything they do~ ...And because Canada wanted company.]

[And when Canada asks that, France quiiiiickly shoves those debt papers aside and pulls out a few nice magazines of French cuisine, spreading photos of delicious-looking food over his desk. Because the alternative is not something he's going to be explaining. Denial? NEVER.]

[Canada giggles and smiles brightly up at Papa when he ruffles his hair. Turning back to the pictures, he puts on a serious face. What should he choose?

After a moment of serious thought, he points at a raspberry mille-feuille, an apple galette, and poached pears.

They all have fruit, so it should be okay for dinner, right?]

[He sees Canada's selections and chuckles to himself, peering over the top of the little nation's head at the desserts.]

For dinner? You've made good selections, yes, but maybe they should be saved for after the meal.
