It's not a flight sim like Freelancer etc. - it's a "tactical battle simulator" - the controls are very basic and you don't use a joystick. It's 99% mouse driven. You can run missions against the computer, PVP in epic fleet battles, be an asteroid miner, run your own corporation ( ... )

Oh and I forgot - if you play the game enough you can pay your subscription with INGAME money - imagine playing wow - but being able to pay with gold and not have to shell out 18$ a month.

WoW....I play a lot I guess you could say :P I could talk to you for hours about this! Grats on 80 :)

I'm sure we're not on the same server, so that sucks. I'm on Thorium Brotherhood, it's a PVE RP server. I've been playing for 3.5 years now I think...so I have a toon for every class (except a warrior because I just don't like it!) Anyway, my main is a Mage and I've been raiding like 5 nights a week lately...it's pretty insane. But I love it and it's fun....so, yeah.. :) We just downed Malygos 25 man last week so I'm still pretty excited over it.
