If you prefer Norma Jean's old singer, he is now fronting The Chariot. You should check out their debut, "Everything's Alive, Everything's Breating, Nothing Is Dead, And Nothing Is Bleeding" (exhaustingly long and gay title, like most of the songs contained on the disc.) They sound more like older NJ. Be warned: the production on the album is TERRIBLE.
Not that my anonymous opinion matters, I feel the Volta were a bit too ambitious with "Frances." Without a real producer (like Rick Ruben for "De-Loused") behind the boards to give the band direction, I felt it all came off as a disorganized mess.
