In a previous post, I discussed my interest in acquiring two new technology.
The first one I discussed was a new phone.
The second technology I will discuss is a new computer.
............
Quick fact: in Sapherical Emerald, if you have used your company-issued laptop for 3 years, they will offer to sell the unit to you at a heavily-discounted price. I have heard that they have acquired their Lenovo Thinkpad X240 (with an i5-4200 processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 500GB hard disk) for Php50,000. They sold it to me at roughly 5% of the price. I gather the discounted selling is most likely for disposal purposes, but I am not complaining. I bought it even if I have no need for another laptop. Also specifically, I did not buy it so I can write this entry in our kitchen.
I am hoping my current company (I haven't named my current company yet) will also sell their company-issued laptops after use. I currently don't remember the specific model, but it's a Dell with an i5-7th generation processor, 16GB of RAM and I think a 1TB hard disk.

Anyway.
The reason why I want to buy a new computer is simply for gaming, even if I neither have the time nor such a priority.
This was partly inspired when we got a new desktop PC for Tty's 60th birthday. I think it is significantly better than any of our computers. The specs we built for him is an i3-8100 processor, a GT1030 video card, and a 1TB hard disk. We canvassed thoroughly and I researched thoroughly (about processor and video card performances) to ensure a good balance between price and performance. I mean, Tty casually plays video games, but the most performance-extensive video games he has played is probably from the year 2012. So he definitely does not need a top of the line device.
This canvassing, plus finding out the price of Kyle's desktop PC with really good specs, plus my desire to play more video games, has... well, inspired this.
The video games I have been playing recently have been... well. My game time with League of Legends has been on and off. I think I have not played LoL for maybe 2-3 months. The games I have been playing recently is Cryptark and Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead. Cryptark's frame speed is not perfect, but I am beginning to see that the cause is more of the game and not the computer..
The minimum requirements (or their equivalents) I want to have from the device is a 7th gen i5 processor, a GTX 1050 video card, 8GB of RAM, and a 1TB hard disk. Maybe with an Solid State Drive?
The discussion of desktop or laptop is a different discussion altogether. The specs above for a desktop cost about Php30,000. The laptop version's cheapest one may be about Php50,000.

I am not getting a new device, so this is just wishful thinking.
