Finished reading "The Princess Bride". Excellent book, very much like the movie, though perhaps a little sadder. I'd love to talk about many of the things I liked about it, but most of them are to do with where it differs from/expands on the film, and I don't want to spoiler it for a few people. The ending left me a little melancholy, as it ends

THERE IS PLENTY OF REASON FOR MERRY AND PIPPIN, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! Merry is my middlenamesake (which is fitting, because he is from Middle Earth) and he in unfathomably awesome*...it is fact. I could go on, but I won't. Because you don't want your lj comments to be full of INDIGNANT CAPITAL LETTERS! ;P

In other matters, though, I must confess a partiality to the 'Lady Come Down' song in the recent Importance of Being Earnest myself...as well at their take on the eating muffins scene.

Also, we must have a discuss-The-Princess-Bride-in-various-genres breakfast sometime soon!

You should take in to consideration the LotR books wherin Merry and Pippin have a bigger role.
