Passing the Crack (Mahou Sensei Negima)
First there was Setsuna/Konoka. Negi/Nodoka? Asuna/Ayaka?? Sayo/Kazumi?? Chizuru/Kotarou??
Kaede and Yue?? ...Maybe it was because of the physical contrast and one amazing panel of Kaede in a chinese dress carrying Yue with petals floating in the background.

But as for personality contrast, I recently was shown an interesting one...
Nagase Kaede and Evangeline A.K. McDowell. If I recall correctly, these two have interacted even less than Kaede and Yue. This crazy pairing is thanks to the following amusing fanfiction...I never would have considered it otherwise. Strings by that-fan...also contains Konoka/Setsuna.
Kaede is a 181cm Kouga Chuunin, a student of the ninjutsu martial art. Eva is a 130cm magic wielding vampire. Aside from school studies, Kaede is a 14 year old who seems much older, both physically and mentally. Evangeline is over a hundred years old, stuck in a ten-year old body. Kaede is relaxed, usually smiling, friendly and often teasing of those around her. It might take an apocalypse to phase her. Evangeline is high-strung, quick to anger and quick to take offense. She likes to act cold and distant, but often ends up helping her classmates or teacher in round-a-bout ways.
This picture is almost directly inspired by the fanfiction mentioned above...except the outfits, which are from recent manga chapters.
This picture might be morbid? Strange? I even wrote a little bickering dialogue for this (under the cut).
Kaede: Little kid.
Evangeline: Big ox.
Kaede: Old lady.
Evangeline: Idiot ranger.
Kaede: Shorty.
Evangeline: Stop pulling my hair.
Kaede: I'm running my fingers through it.
Evangeline: Well, it hurts.
Kaede: You should comb it at least once a week.
Evangeline: I brush every day, dumbass.
Kaede: Hehe.
Evangeline: Yeowww!
Kaede: Your hair tangles easily.
Evangeline: Stop it, or I'll suck you dry!
Kaede: Your stomach is too small for that.
Evangeline: Grrrr...
Kaede: You're so cute.
Evangeline: Stop hugging me while I'm trying to eat you!
