When Derek Brown was possessed, it wasn't a terrifying or painful experience. The only thing that he felt was a strange peace washing over him, at first it was unsettling, it was too calm, too soothing.

It's going to be alright.

A surge of panic shot through him when he tried to lift his hand and realized he couldn't do so.

Don't be afraid, my name is Castiel, I'm an angel of the Lord. Remember, you prayed for this.

"Honey?"

His eyes looked up towards Sharon, his wife, whose sitting across from you at the coffee table, Chinese takeout surrounding her.

Without his mind's consent, his body got up and started walking to the door, moving as if he was stiff and unsure of how his body moved.

What are you doing? He yelled at the thing, feeling crazy at the fact he couldn't control himself. Where are you going?

"Derek?" He tried to control his eyes and see her, but...Castiel won't let him have movement to see her, in fact, he's not even acknowledging the woman's presence, "Wher-Your scaring me, what is it?"

What's going on? Derek demanded as his body walked out the door casually, his wife called out ot him, but this thing didn't even blink

Why are you afraid?

Well, for starters, I can't control myself!

But you prayed for this, Castiel repeats, acting like he can't understand why his host is so agitated.

Sharon called again and ran forward to grab her arm, Castiel calmly pressed two fingers on her forehead and she whimpered and fell to the ground.

My wife....

Sharon will be alright for now, there's someone I need to find.

He curled into his own subconscious and tried to shut out the fact that his body was moving without his consent

Castiel didn't understand the host he's caring for.

He tried to do everything he could to assure him that he'll be alright, but Derek refused to calm himself.

Human emotion can be....as uncomfortable as it is fascinating, especially when they're emotions are high and they're scared and angry

But now that he's found a human, he could talk to Dean, to try and explain and get him to understand why he'd brought him back

They tried a summoning spell in the barn, but Castiel didn't go because he was forced to. Summoning spells didn't work on angels, he was just curious and he needed to meet up with Dean before anymore time passed.

When he opened the barn doors, he saw the men immediately, but his focus was primarily on the younger one. The fear and determination rolled off him like waves, like the host, he didn't understand what was going on, he immediately starts shooting as does his friend, but Castiel is unaffected.

His host, however, is once again panicking, even though he can't feel anything, and Castiel does his best reassure him that he will heal the body completely before he leaves, and when he's done with him, he'll be able to continue on as normal, but Derek cried out once again as Dean slammed a knife into his chest. And starts demanding answers about why eh's there and possessing him

Castiel chose not to listen and removed the knife, and grabbed an iron bar to keep from being hit, with just two fingers to the forehead, the older man crumbles to the floor unconscious.

"We need to talk Dean. Alone"

Sharon paced the living room with her phone in her hand, she'd called everyone she could think of and no one had seen Derek.

Just call the police

Yeah, like they were going to do anything.

She threw the phone on the couch and walked to the bedroom to get her car keys.

He was standing there by the desk, leafing through some papers when she turned on the light, he only lifted his head when she jumped and gave a startled yelp.

"Derek," she sighed and rushed to him, wrapping your arms around his frame, he tensed up and the seconds passed before he finally returned the gesture.

"Where have you been?" she pulled back and search his eyes, but then she noticed the holes in his coat and the blood, "Oh my god"

When she attempted to pull open his jacket and open his shirt to check the wounds, he immediately grabbed her wrists in a grip not tight enough to hurt, but tight enough so she couldn't get away, his tilts his head to the side, confused, and curious at the same time, "What are you doing?"

"What do you mean what am I doing? You're hurt, Derek"

"Your husband isn't hurt"

It took a few seconds for her to process that, "I don't understand, what game is this?"

"My name is Castiel, I'm an angel of the Lord"

She stood there still, both searched each other's faces, and she realized that he wasn't joking, "What's the punchline?"

He looked at her confused, like he can't understand the question, "Sharon, my true appearance can be overwhelmng to the human eye, your husband is serving as my vessel"

"Uh huh" she backed away slowly and turn to leave the room.

He suddenly appeared standing in the doorway, and she turned around to look where he had been to see that he had somehow moved. "Why do you humans pray for a miracle, but then have no faith when they come?"

"How did you do that?"

"I've told you already, I'm an angel of the Lord"

"Possessing my husband?" she gestured to his torn clothes, "And what mission are you doing that has you bringing him home looking like this?"

"His health will be properly restored, afterwards."

She swallowed fearfully and examinded his coat again, even though the proof was there right in front of her, she had a hard time believing it, why them of all people? "Who did this to you?"

"Someone else who has no faith"

This is crazy, get away, run.

She wrapped her arms around herself, "Is Derek still in there?"

"Yes, he's very content to see you"

"And why are you angels suddenly appearing on Earth now?"

"Because a war is coming, and few will know until it's too late".

"War?"

He nods something that resembles relief crosses his face because she was sort of understanding, "There are things that need to be done, try and get some sleep, you'll need it"

He turns to leave and she immediately followed him, he still had some explaining to do, he didn't owe her anything, sure, but it would be nice to know what he was pulling her husband and possbily her into

She turned the same corner he did, but he was gone and she suddenly felt very alone

Later, Sharon laid in bed, trying to get some sleep when she heard the door come crashing open.
