I only ever really had one Grandpa. The other died of lung cancer before I could walk properly; though I've been told he was a good man who led a good life, and I dont doubt it. You're grandpa sounds like he was one of the most awesome people in the universe. I don't really have any special relationships with my grandparents, but I wish I did. There are two types of people with regards to age. Those who fight it, with its debilitation, sympathy, and death, and those who embrace it. They embrace it because they know that, where they lack a sharp mind, they have a wise one. They know how to live out the rest of their life to the fullest, taking everything in stride and understanding that, if you only focus on the good things, that's all there really is. From what you've written about him, this is the type of person your grandpa was. People like that make me rethink my wish to die middle-aged.

I'd have to agree with your thoughts on old people Brendan. But, I still want to die around age 26 b/c I want to live fast, die young.
