Well, what can I say? Mushroom-hunting is much more fun when there are actual mushrooms to hunt. We had tremendously bad luck last year (and two years ago iirc), but this time things looked... promising, at least. Not a bad result for August. Mom is all about penny buns - we found quite a few of them, and as for me, I only care for honey mushrooms ( Read more... )

Oh, that's handy. Honey mushrooms prefer to play chasing game with us, though, and migrate every couple of years. -_-

Lol, when with my mom - anything and everything. She is a mycologist, so any mushroom is fair game for her, regardless of its edibility. My personal favorites are honey mushrooms, though: they're delicious and cute and fun. Penny buns and champignons are not bad either!~

Oooh, that's really cool! You're the first person outside of my family and other people in my area to mention mushroom hunting, so I'm excite :3 My dad does it, too. I used to go with him but can't much now due to my back. Though we exclusively go for morels.

Oh, it's a popular activity in your area too? I love how passers-by just strike casual mushroom-centered conversations with us while we are picking; it seriously seems like everyone here is into it.

Morsels are cool and nice to look at! Wish we would get more of them.
