All work and no play makes for nothing to post about...

A private screening, in that there were no other punters. It was a weekday afternoon - but Shrewsbury Cineworld deserves credit for supporting a British film, even just for a week, since I gather lots of provincial cinemas haven't ( Read more... )

I was just thinking today that I wouldn't mind seeing this as I'd heard they'd filmed some scenes in the French House.

Another couple of months before I get another chance to visit my favourite pub, so seeing it on the screen might keep me going for a little while! *g*

I've never been to The French House, just saw it mentioned in a blog as a location. Looks like a gorgeous pub! From pics on The French House website, it looks as though they didn't have to change it much to look just right for the film.

The French hasn't changed for yonks! I've been going in there since my courting days, and it's not changed at all since then.

You should have a look in there next time you're in the West End, I guarantee you won't have been in a pub like it before. Don't ask for a pint though, they don't serve them! And whatever you do, don't use your mobile phone! *g*

ETA: Ooh yes, just spotted the French in the trailer!

Oh gosh, how many times have I been in the French recently?? :-))). It's rapidly becoming our fave pub in central London, so much so we are getting recognised when we go in there!!!

And yes, I want to see the film too.

How very cool to have the cinema to yourself - and yeay for time off work! The Look of Love looks interesting... I thought at first you meant there'd been Pros shot at The French House, and I was desperately trying to think of which ep it might be... *g* I like that you snuck our lads in somehow, though... *g*

There's always a Pros connection!
It's a bit weird being the only punters in the whole cinema. The staff must've been cross because if we hadn't shown up I guess they would've had a nice long break.
It's the first time I've set foot in the local multiplex too, loathe the places generally.

Oh, thanks for mentioning this. I saw something about it a while ago and meant to keep an eye out for it. So it's out now? *runs to local listings*.

I've been to a few quiet shows, but I have never been the only person or part of the only group. But friends have been to live drama and found themselves the only two in the audience!

found themselves the only two in the audience now that would feel awkward!

I'm sure The Look of Love will be available on DVD/download before too long.

coincidentally I heard a recording of 'The Look of Love' (song) by Stan Getz on the radio this morning, was gorgeous. sadly not on YouTube.
