OOC: for Fitz and lady-Eleven muns

Jan 10, 2007 11:36

I talked with Sam (the relativespace mod) and got a few answers. The log's below.

[11:16] companyconstant: Hello!
[11:16] Moebius888: Hiya. :)
[11:16] companyconstant: How're you?
[11:17] Moebius888: not bad. A little tired, but nothing I can't handle with some caffiene.
[11:18] companyconstant: That's good. Do you have time for some plot-type discussion?
[11:19] Moebius888: Sure, I've got some time. What's up?
[11:20] companyconstant: Fitz & lady-Eleven-muns and I are hoping to jump into the game soon. I was wondering if there was anywhere it'd be useful for us to show up, or not show up?
[11:22] companyconstant: Also, I was wondering about these communicators people mention. Will our characters be getting them? And how?
[11:22] Moebius888: Hm. Well, I don't know really. That's up to you guys. If you want to somehow get involved in the Dalek plot, you're welcome to. You may want to drop the person who plays Dalek Sec a line, but that doesn't really make much of a difference, since she's pretty good at adapting, and the Dalek plot is just sort of background to get characters doing things.
[11:23] Moebius888: Yes, everyone gets a communicator. That's the entrance point into the game.
[11:23] Moebius888: The entry post always involves the communicator, whether it (the post) is in the form of someone talking, like "Hello? Just turned this thing on, what's happening?" or a more narrative entry about them finding it and popping it on.
[11:24] Moebius888: Even though your three characters are together, they'll each have a communicator. It's the in-game persona of the livejournal, if that makes sense.
[11:24] companyconstant: Ah, okay.
[11:24] companyconstant: :)
[11:24] Moebius888: (And thanks for that question, because it reminds me to put ifno about the communicators in the FAQs and welcome letters.)
[11:24] companyconstant: So they're random bits of tech that look like...something specific, or whatever we'd like them to?
[11:25] Moebius888: We've never clearly defined them. They've got switches to send bands... so there can be private communications, for example. It can be totally turned off, though it turns itself ona gain if it wants (mischieviously). I've never imagined them to have viewscreens, but some people do. It's pretty fluid... they're boxish and don't look like mobile phones, but are clearly communication devices. Microphones, speakers, maybe that viewscreen.
[11:26] companyconstant: Okay, thank you.
[11:26] companyconstant: So, a good entrance post would be a trip, landing somewhere unexpected, and finding the communicators?
[11:30] Moebius888: Sure. It's really totally open to the players. I can tell you that in the past, people have been woken up to find the communicators by their bedside, they've discovered the communicators in archive bins, noticed the communicators just randomly sitting on a console, or been given them as a gift. It's just a plot device to get characters in game, and can happen however you want.
[11:30] companyconstant: Okay. We will try to think of something interesting then.
[11:32] Moebius888: Great. I'm looking forward to it.
[11:34] companyconstant: :) Me too.
[11:35] Moebius888: Alright, I've got to run and grab lunch. If you need anything else, let me know. :)
[11:36] companyconstant: Okay, have a good lunch, thanks for taking the time to explain things. :)
[11:36] Moebius888: Not a problem, that's what I'm here for.
[11:36] companyconstant: I'm going to post this to Rose's journal so Fitz and lady-Doctor muns can see it, okay?
[11:36] Moebius888: Sure.
[11:36] companyconstant: :)
[11:36] Moebius888: Talk to you later.
[11:37] companyconstant: Okay, be well
[11:37] *** Auto-response from Moebius888: Lunch!

So we have lots of things we could do, and will meet (or talk to at least) a bunch of other characters, and can see what plots are presented.
