I just handed James Mac all the masters I possess from the Rites of Eleusis, Austin, 1995 - 2002. And also, the handwritten initiation records from our first 3 years of doing initiations, starting in March 2005. Obviously all that information was digitized some years ago, but the originals carry their own weight/interest as archival objects, ( Read more... )

I was asked to return all that stuff to int'l when I resigned but I seriously have a big box and they have all the important paperwork anyway. .. have no idea what to do with all of it so have it in a big box in my storage locker. Along with a suitcase full of robes/costumes, etc.

Point is, it would cost way too much to mail, I already gave way too much, not going to spend a couple hundred more.

lol, that would be a bit funny. .. I don't even know if Canada Post allows that. Also, I honestly don't think they would want any of the paperwork I have. They have copies of all the important stuff, to do with members. It is probably me just being sentimental. I think you were right when you suggested a shredder or to burn them. Unfortunately I don't have the ability to do either of them right now. . I really should get a shredder soon though cause as it is I now manually cut up my bills before throwing them out!

The robes, yikes. That's a hard one, especially as I made most of them by hand so it's hard to throw out good work. Also I used to think I might need them one day but even for personal ritual I don't bother with that (so far.) I commend you for being able to get rid of personal certificates/paperwork. Not sure I can manage that either.

We (Eleusyve Productions) are doing an archive/history project regarding the performance of the rites in the Order. We've interveiwed several west coast folks so far. If you know who we might contact to get the lowdown on the Rites as done in Texas that would be marvelous.

Thanks!

You might get in touch with Content Knowles. I hear she had something to do with it and she'd probably talk to ya. Or you could get in contact with SWL and ask them who you should get in contact with if you'd prefer to talk to someone who is still active in the OTO. A great many people were involved, many of whom are still active and would I am sure be willing to talk to you ( ... )

And don't forget we even had a Rite of Neptune and a Rite of Pluto!

You rock. I am so glad you transformed that community experience into an ongoing theater career too.

I'm now Past Master of Bubastis :) I am back to serving in the much more comfortable capacity of Initiation Secretary. In any case, I'd be happy to answer any questions, at least so far as I remember "those iron days."
