hey, does anyone have any experience with the "clothing blanks" from dharma trading company?
specifically, I'm wondering if the baby clothes are soft or scratchy. I'm toying around with the idea of some glittery onesies.
hypothetically speaking, would anyone even buy glittery onesies?

i thnik i have a tie-dye baby onesie that was made from one of their blanks.
although, i'm assuming that the shirt was washed at least twice prior to my getting it. (once to pre wash and once to get the dye out.)
i have a freind who does bakik for a living, and i'm pretty sure that is where she gets her shirts from.
when i talk to her tonight i will ask her.

sometimes sizing is a little weird but they are careful to describe when that happens.

ok, good, I was hoping they'd be good when I saw them comparing their own onesies to scratchy gerber ones.yeah, I noticed that they're v informative about sizing.

Soooo! fwiw (too late?) yes, I've ordered a lot of dharma - baby, kid & adult stuff! another local mama & I have a very small kids clothing business where we hand dye (not tie dye) the clothes- mostly dharma and have had really good luck w/ them. and of course, some sizes are funky...
also we pay a lot of attention to when they rate stuff like leggings or dresses as premium, budget, etc and then pay a buck more and get the good stuff - makes a huge difference. good luck!

I ended up ordering a bunch of stuff from Dharma to use in trials, but I think that when it comes to my real product, I'm going to go with American Apparel, which is a non-sweatshop company. of course, I'm not dyeing, so I have different needs.
hey, do you add your own label to the clothes you sell? this is the thing I'm currently trying to figure out, since I'm not going to be big enough to do a "private label" type thing.

oh dear - is dharma sweatshop? that would be a real bummer as we couldn't use them anymore and here I thought I'd done my homework. does american apparel have a website?
Sara has a label called bugwear that we have decided to just keep for our little business as well. she has a degree in textile arts, masters in business, etc and is amazing at sewing, the science of dyes, and business. but she doesn't have a eye for color&art as much, so that's where I come in. am a theatre designer by trade and work w/ color&design on a daily basis. so together we do well. but not w/ sweat shop apparel, no way, would appreciate any info you have on this. there is also a local co called Imago, Daughters and Sons that we were going to check out and see about using their overstocks - am pretty sure they are made here in twin cities.
So what do you do w/ the blanks? am curious how you alter/adapt them, do you have a link or pics?
