YOV Tour
- Allowed to go in cos' of our media pass (aka abusing our privileges).
- So, woke up late, was in a mad rush until I was halfway there, and Krista sms-ed and said that she just woke up. At 9-ish?
- Messaged Kenny Choy, and he was like, 'Hey, I should be the one allowed to be late cos' I worked the night shift ytd! You girls worked the morning shift ytd!'. Oops, our bad!
- So went to find Choy when I've reached MBS.
- Was waiting for the shutter bus to come, and we had a debate about our handphones (my old but not-so-easily-breakable Nokia w/o internet VS his popular but in my opinion not-so-trusty iPhone). Yeah.
- Then, was on the shutter bus, and I was so tired. And Choy listened to his MP3. Looking at his MP3, I miss music on-the-go. D: *sobs over my spoiled Samsung and over the fact that I have no $$ to buy an iTouch*
- Also, we realised that the bus was kinda old and not so clean, so Choy was like, 'Wouldn't this ruin the foreign reporters' impression of YOV?' Well, couldn't agree more...
- Met Krista at YOV culture centre. Was so hot sunny over at YOV...!
- There were booths from different YOG-participating countries and each booth have activities that portray that country's culture and lifestyle.
- The next 3-4 hours were dedicated to touring the YOV, with Krista and Choy as the guinea pigs to try all the activities available at the different booths. Krista was super enthusiastic (tried out almost every activity available at the booths) while Choy just became the 'fail' (failing even to hang a well-wish note onto a good luck tree).
- As for myself, I filmed. \o/
- Highlight: We saw a lot of hot (tall, lean, fit, tanned, face-with-healthy-glow) athletes. :D The 2 of them were intending to stalk the athletes and ask them for photos, but realised we better not do that (and make a joke out of ourselves).
- Ate at the YOV cafe. Food was EXPENSIVE (read: pasta dish + overly-creamy soup = S$7.50). But since some of the countries that the athletes come from have bigger currencies, therefore it shouldn't pose a problem to them eh? ;)
- Then finally, after walking the YOV booths for the 4th time (and it was getting boring), we went back to MBS. Before that, we went to the air-conditioned place where YOG memorabilia were sold. There were notebookes, mugs, etc etc etc. The popular 'Merly's were out of stock.
- I saw Ee Wee, a Primary 6 classmate. but he didn't see me. And I don't think he recognises me either. :\ And, he's in media studies too. How coincidental.
- Had a headache from tying my hair up in a tight ponytail, and from insufficient water intake. -.-"
- Had a snack at MBS before I went off (i.e. free-loading and quoting Aimee, "你很欠豍sia!") and Krista went off to work (night shift).
