come on, you know you did your best. don't worry too much about your state of health affecting your performance. :)
anyway, voice lessons are good as they help you gain confidence. rest assured that you can learn a lot from choral voice-lessons. solo voice-lessons (which many people are taking out there) may not give you the desired results, as you may not really learn how to blend with the musicians and each other. :)
No lah it's fine. I guess part of growing up is to acknowledge I cannot be good in everything, even though I may have already tried. Besides, he probably sees there's room for improvement for my singing technique. Otherwise he wouldn't be wasting his time on me. :)
Take criticism in stride unless you're absolutely sure it's laced with contempt... in which case you should whack him over the head with a frying pan heh.. i didn't know about this, hows things? i see henry heh
I guess it's better to take it in your face then having people say you suck behind your back. In any case, the sender of the message meant no malice at all.
I don't know who told ya you need vocal lessons, but for me, I was given the opportunity to study with the best because I "needed vocal lessons" too. People recognise potential when they tell you you need it, not flaws.
*shrugs* I've never heard you sing, but from my years in the industry, I've come to realise that only people with potential get told they need the lessons just to develop that short bit more. My vocal tutor is so strict at choosing her students that most of the people who want her get rejected.
And like you, her first words to me were "I think you need vocal lessons."
Thanks for your encouragement! I guess I don't exactly feel inferior now, rather, more like privileged that my tutor is willing to take time out of his insane schedule to coach me.
Regarding the Christmas performance, I have yet to decide whether to be involved or not. Since there are exams during that period, it's a little inconvenient. Unfortunate...
Your Japanese is correct! The more you practise, surely the faster you become proficient in it.
