She needed an oil change, exhaust work, a new speedometer cable, and some weird fault tracked down in the electrical system. It was the last one that really sealed her fate.
I can't really tell you why, but I've become somewhat enamored of the liftback.
That being said, no, it's certainly not the car I'd buy if I had twice as much money to spend. But, in the $14k-16k range, it's the one I liked best. It beat out the Elantra, the Yaris sedan, and the Rio.
And, honestly, for me to get a car that I'd like enough better to be worth the extra money, I'd end up spending at least $18k, probably over $20k.
I admit, discovering all this came as something of a surprise to me, too...but I really enjoy driving it.
