Why All Actors and Some Parents need to be shot...

A Series of Rants..

We had 2 school shows today. We can hold 74 people sometimes we can get up to 100 4-5 year olds in the space just because they are, simply, less wide. The first group was actually two schools. Which I wouldn't think would be problematic since each small child had one parent with them. Of course this normally wouldn't be a problem. Its very rare that  the groups have so many chaperones. So I thought maybe they would be okay by themselves for 5 min while I went outside and told my early buses that they need to stay on the buses because it was 20 degrees out and I didn't want the kids to freeze. I went back inside and I hear children running up and down on the set !! and when I went inside the parents were ENCOURAGING their children ...all 14 of them to jump off of and run up and down on platforms that were 3 feet, 4 feet, and 5 feet off the ground. WHY would any parent think this is okay? The set is not a playground. While there  is a tunnel and a ramp to be used by trained professionals. It is NOT a park. The platforms are in the air and they dont have any railing.
  • Why would a parent encourage the kids to touch and potential break things that aren't there?
  • Why when I said no your child can not go into the backstage area because of eletrics did they look at me like I had 5 heads?
  •  Why were they shocked that  I was unhappy and did not let them touch things?
  • What happened to looking with your eyes not with your hands?
  • Why weren't these parents responsible enough to realize that the kids could fall and seriously injured themselves?
  • What happened to teaching your children to respect things and other people's property?
Things like this is why I dislike PARENTS  not children because if they are not corrected they go on to be bigger monsters and disrupt society.

Actors need to learn how to talk to people and not be demanding pissants. I wash your clothes, I pay you, I have the option of feeding you. Do not PISS me off., because then I will not wash your clothes, I will lose your check, and I will make sure that even if you bring your own food it accidentally gets tossed. You are contracted to perform 25 shows. This is a JOB. You choose to be a professional actor. You are currently EMPLOYED. Do not schedule a vacation in the middle of your run without telling your employer. Work comes up. You want work. Millions of people are getting laid off. This is the option to make money.  You are also not Equity. Equity actors have lots of rules and regulations because they have paid dues and get certain courtesies. You are 22 just out of college and making your name for yourself in New York. You seriously do not want to piss me off. You have though. So now its really going to suck being you for the next 2 weeks. Oh and remember that make up you DEMANDED I have in by the next day and you still haven't gotten it? Yeah...you're not going to get it either. Oh and I hope you use the company as a reference because when they call and ask about you I'm going to tell them its worth it to go with another choice because you came out of college thinking you were amazing and you need to not be working for 2 years to lessen your ego. I hope your above average pay check you are getting for this show lasts a long time because its the last one you are getting.
