[Open RP] Elle in Wonderland. Or Coney Island. Either way.

After the St. Patrick's Day Debacle, as the press was calling it, Elle had laid low for a few days. But now it was Saturday and the weather was sort of nice, and she felt like wandering and people watching. And maybe a little people zapping, if she found some of the right people.

Since she had killed Sylar, Elle had found that zapping bad people ( Read more... )

Some days it was good just to be out and away from any reminders of ... well. No. He really couldn't escape reminders. Problem at his age. Everything reminded you of something else, or someone else. But it was a decent enough day, finally, and he was wondering why he was back in the North and hadn't just headed to Bora Bora like he was always threatening to ( ... )

It wasn't until the third or fourth revolution that Elle realized she was being followed. Not that she wasn't paying attention! Of course she was paying attention. It was just that the only two people left were her and the creepy old guy that kept watching her.

As if she was born yesterday. He could change horses all he wanted to, but she was trained for that sort of thing.

Right as the next revolution started up, when the kids were all seated, Elle hopped off her horse and stalked back towards the guy. And then she zapped him. The kids screamed, and so did the parents, and that only made it better.

"Stop following me," she yelled, "I'm trying to have a me day!"

"OW!" Methos yelped, glaring at her. It wasn't that he wasn't used to feeling like he was getting struck with lightning, but usually there was power he could take with it, making it a far more pleasant experience than lightning flashing from a girl's fingers.

"What did you do that for?"

He would not shoot her. He would not shoot her. Or run her through with his sword. There were far too many witnesses and openness about somethings might be fine, but murder was still murder. It would be messy. He'd have to disappear. He liked New York, mostly. If nothing else it was a pain in the ass to move his stuff. So he refrained, valiantly, though he looked very much like he wanted to.

[New thread? :D?]

The crime scene had turned out not to be a crime scene after all. Mac had been called in when some kids digging in the sand under the Boardwalk found some bones. More digging by the ME's team, however, turned up a canine skull. Not Mac's bailiwick, so he was okay to leave.

It was a nice day, and there wasn't another call-out waiting, and no results had been texted to him from the lab, so Mac figured he could take half an hour or so, and sit in the sun, and enjoy a hot dog before he had to climb back in the SUV and drive back into Manhattan.

He took a seat near the carousel, just managing to dodge a blonde girl who was making a beeline for it, ticket in hand. She was much older than most of the boys and girls headed for the colorfully-painted animals, but Mac supposed a place like this brought out the kid in everyone.

[Sure!]

Elle rode around the carousel a few times, then walked for a few revolutions, surreptitiously sending small charges through the metal bars of the horses as she walked by them. It was fun to hear the kids yelp.

But enough was enough, and she still wanted to try out the roller coaster. She hopped off and walked out the gate, where she noticed the guy who'd been there since she'd gotten on. She narrowed her eyes at him. "Hey. Are you waiting for someone?"

Mac raised his eyebrows, not quite expecting such a direct question from a perfect stranger. "No, ma'am," he replied, sitting up straighter, which caused his jacket to fall away from the badge clipped to his belt. "I was just taking a lunch break. This was the first place to sit I found. The park's crowded today, what with the nice weather."

"Oh, okay," she replied cheerily, "it's just that I saw you when I got on, and when I got off you were totally still - "

Elle caught site of his badge and froze. But he'd said he wasn't waiting for anyone. Right?

Right, Elle. Don't freak out and blow your cover.

Blow my cover? What cover?

You're just a regular girl riding amusement park rides. You didn't blow up any power stations. That wasn't you. Totally unrelated to the fact that there are sparks popping at your fingers now and - damnit.

She balled up her fists quickly, hoping he didn't catching anything. "Yeah, the weather's great. Wish it could be warmer, but," she laughed nervously, "can't control weather, can I?"
