He was just a little frustrated. Usually he pursued a vision to his fullest. On a normal day he would have hopped a plane the minute David had hung up on him and he would have arrived in Chicago a few hours later. What would have followed would be a stakeout as well as a glued to the hip-type scenario where David would never leave his sight ( Read more... )

Psychics barely registered as a blip on her radar. They were a dime a dozen these days, and there were certainly some much more interesting things out there. Amy was much more interested in the array of delectable eatables that were laid out in front of her. White pizza. French fries. Onion rings.

At least humans were good for something.

She stood in the middle of the food court rocking back and forth on her heels as she looked from counter to counter, trying to decide what to get. Too many choices. Far too many choices.

What? She was an indecisive demon. It was in her blood.

Ford's attention was now on Amy. Of course he didn't know her name and he wasn't attracted to her, that much was true. But there was something about her. For whatever reason he wanted to look at her.

Moving for the salt he realized he hadn't grabbed any so he wiped his mouth and stood up, heading over to the one counter. Leaning over Amy, Ford quickly apologized before grabbing to packets of salt and leaning back. "I don't usually invade personal space like that," he said, making eye contact.

Huh, she was hot. And he was gay so it didn't matter -- but she was.

Amy could care less about an invasion of personal space. He didn't even brush anything interesting which meant that he probably wasn't interested, and really interested in the salt, or he was trying to make it seem that way, and either way -- she really didn't care.

She turned to him briefly when he made eye contact. Psychic Boy was making some kind of apology that she really didn't care about, and it wasn't helping her make her decision any faster.

"If you were me -- would you get the white pizza with spinach, tomatoes and cheddar cheese, or the Double Whopper with a jumbo sized fries and a large order of onion rings?"

Ford was taken by surprise as he opened his mouth and no sound came out. He looked over to the display, the array of food sitting there before him and he perused her choices. They all looked pretty good if you asked him but she was asking for a clear answer.

"I would get the white pizza with spinach, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese and the Double Whopper with jumbo size fries and a large order of onion rings," he said, looking back at her. "But that's just if I was you."
