One of my favourite parts of world-building is creating languages. I won't say I'm good at it, but I thoroughly enjoy it. I wish I'd been able to work one into my novel, but it wouldn't really add anything to the story. As a general rule, though, I find that creating languages allows me to get a real feel for the people I'm writing about. I always see language as a reflection of culture and society, and building languages helps me to define the way those people live and how their history has developed to get them to the 'today' that I'm writing about.

All that, just to say thanks for pointing out that course. I'll definitely check it out.
