We're built on immigration... [it's] part of what makes us economically competitive.
I've long wondered how this point escapes all the anti-immigration 'tards. It amazes and disgusts me that they can be so oblivious and hypocritical.
It also saddens me that the instinctual drive to create in-group/out-group separation hasn't yet been reined in by common sense, intellect or compassion. I wonder how many generations of evolution that will take?

It's been so successful so far, I can't imagine it'll get reigned in any time soon. We're not made to live inside superorganisms, and it's driving us even crazier than we were before. Nations take everything that's worst in human nature, magnify it, and point it like a gun at each other.
Even when the kids are kept with the parents, they can end up languishing in ICE detention camps for months or years. Folks always gotta have someone to hate and beat down.
