DT’s Protein Smoothie
This recipe makes two glasses of smoothie. Have one for breakfast, and chill the other half for lunch. It is better than Slimfast, and WAAAY healthier! Because everything is raw, it retains the healthful enzymes and nutrients, and because it is packed with protein and healthy fats, it is quite filling and satisfying. This is an excellent snack for pregnant and nursing women.
Ingredients:
8 oz fresh whole milk (cow or goat preferably raw, organic)
4 oz fresh kefir or yogurt (plain)
2 T nut butter (I used raw sunflower seed butter I made last night!)
1-2 tsp raw honey (to taste)
1 banana
1 whole egg, raw (fresh, pastured)
2 egg yolks, raw
1 T Coconut oil (optional)
1 T cocoa powder and/or 1 tsp vanilla
Blend all ingredients in blender. Enjoy!
