Mind you, it's been two years since I came up with this fic, but I remember reacting pretty much the same as you here: A"LKDFJSLKDJFS:LFKJ{OWEIHT{WOHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when I first SAW that opening scene in my head :) I've always wanted to finish this fic and I'm SO glad I finally did!

And I have to say to you...I came very close to saying so in the author's note, but you have a LOT to do with me coming up with the concept! Because back two years ago I was reading and rereading and rereading AGAIN over and over again YOUR fic The Timepiece (which I know I've told you before) and I loved that fic so much that it was what made me want to write a HN fic. But I didn't want to write one unless I came up with a really unique concept for one. And this was actually the SECOND one I came up with. The first one I started to write and then someone else posted the exact same plot and I

LOL...remember that I am very weak. VERY weak. Tuesday is the goal, but we'll see if I last that long ;)

But... that fic is... What, really? Oi... Well, gosh, that's flattering. *blush*

Well, yes, we've discussed this before. And I agree that there are ways that fic could be better. But at the time it was the first that I read, and it was my first fic of YOURS that I read, and it just hit me in all the right places. Particularly the last chapter or two. I know I read the end probably 5 times for every time I read the beginning. But yes, sometimes things just work for certain people, and that fic just worked for me. Clearly. Since I wrote this one ;) LOL.

I am SO hooked!! This is the most intriguing first chapter I've read in a long time. Rose, and Smith, and the Doctor, and the Family, and the War, and GAH! If there were more posted, I would stay up all night to finish reading it even though I have to work tomorrow. Instead, I'll just wait with bated breath for an update...

EIIIIIIII!!! I KNOW, RIGHT???? How long ago was it that I told you about this fic??? Like, a year or more?? It actually is DONE - I wrote the whole thing in November and I was just holding off to post it for Wasted Time and then all the End of Time madness.

And yay! I'm glad the timeline of it works for you!! I know that timeline jumping can be confusing for people, but that was something I wanted to do from the very start - write two concurrent stories of Rose and John Smith falling in love alongside the Doctor and Rose trying to find their way again.

I think I am going to adore this fic. I was completely drawn in from the first few words, able to vividly see Rose moving about that little shop and she was so sad and then her love is back and then oh, plot twist, hello. Very nice plot twist. I'm looking forward to seeing how they got to your beginning, the relationship that developed between them and all those complex emotions that Rose has to feel loving him and marrying him as John Smith and loving him as the Doctor. And of course once we get back to the beginning where they go from there. It's been a long time since I've been this intrigued. Lovely, lovely beginning.

That is a great compliment - and it means I did something right! *bounces* When I first started to write this I was absolutely obsessed by that image of him standing in the window of the shop in his uniform and I wanted to get it RIGHT on page so badly!
