There is something so heartbreaking about the Doctor sitting on the floor, revisiting his life as John. I'm glad they finally talked. There has been so much misunderstanding on both sides.

I absolutely love that Rose took the letter to share with the TARDIS. It seems like just the thing she'd do. Poor John, dreaming of the Time War and waking up to a World War.

You're the first person to comment on John dreaming of the Time War! Thanks for doing so! That was a detail I felt was really important. I think if John was dreaming of the Doctor's world from the start, than going to war would clearly trigger memories of war. It's completely heartbreaking, but it's also the nature of the world he walked into.

Oh the angst, I love it.

I'm glad Rose finally had it out with the Doctor...the idea that the two of them could have actually separated without ever talking about what happened is so scary, because I guess with the Doctor's stubborn streak and Rose's insecurity I could have easily seen that happening.

And poor John! Away from Rose and tortured by a war in his dreams...the one place where he should be able to escape the reality of the War he's living.

Ouch.

My internet went down last night before you posted this so I didn't see it until now.

Oh how I do love this chapter. It's just so perfect the way they finally start to get everything out in the open. Also, the "Past" section in this chapter just breaks my heart. So sad that she'll never see John again and she didn't know it. Although I think that's likely very true of anyone sending their husband off to war - which is part of what makes this such a great story because the parallels are so strong and yet it's all twisty thanks to John actually being the Doctor.

Anyway, well done m'dear. I can't believe you're almost done posting this already. Wow, that went fast.
