Unfortunately, as someone who couldn't wait for Radagast because of Tolkien, I agree with your disappointment there, though for different reasons. I'd rather have seen him not done at all than done badly. (Jackson's fault there, not McCoy's.)
Wasn't seeing Holm's Bilbo considering the portrait of Freeman's Bilbo amazing? It gave me cold chills and tears in my eyes at the same time.

Warmly agree with this. I found the film great fun. For me, PJ got the tone right-- it felt very true to the lighter tone of the hobbit, with much more action of course, but it didn't detract or bewilder the way his manufactured scenes in TTT especially did.
His dialog improved immensely this time around, and I suspect a great deal of it is because he gave himself room to quote directly from the book, rather than summarizing and switching lines between characters.
It was lovely good fun and I'll be seeing it again. :)
