Here are some photos from Huntington Gardens yesterday. I didn't take very many, but it was a lovely day. Might post more of them once I've taken a look at all of them on the computer. He looks great! (Lovely pics.) I've never particularly followed his work, but he was in one of my favorite films, and quite excellent in it: The Long Riders (along with his brother, the Carradines, and the Keaches). I'm so glad you got to see him in person.

I first saw DQ in Breaking Away. It happens to be one of my most favorite films, and I know it by heart. In fact, I got the idea for my daughter's name from one of the actresses in the film.

It's a wonderful place. Immense. With big vistas of lawn, statuary, a tremendous large cactus garden, bamboo groves, a Japanese garden, a Chinese garden... just a huge variety of areas, landscape, plants. Plus art galleries and whatnot. My favorite spot is the bamboo, which is where the lily ponds are located. Very tranquil there, and shaded.
