I seem to have fallen out of the habit of updating (or even checking) lj very frequently. I need to get back on the wagon, even if only for myself. I have to say that it's been a really rough summer. Not for Tom & I especially--it has been pretty uneventful. But over the course of a few months, a number of people close to us have been going through

I'm sorry about the sickness and death--no words, really, so I'll move on. . . . I like your piece. Your classes sound awesome and well worth every penny. Re LA: I went twice and enjoyed myself each time. I assume that you will have access to a car, which is really essential if you want to easily get around and see the whole area. Recommended: La Brea Tar Pits, Sculpture Garden at UCLA, a movie at the Mann Theater, Venice Beach, Santa Monica (rent skates or bikes), and the curly fries at Jack in the Box. The first time I went was the last year Carson did The Tonight Show and we got to see him and did the NBC tour.
