I can't explain it, but I'm right there with you at how annoying it is. It seems I've encountered it most among a younger set of fans - or that could just be my perception, since I'm--old... ;)

It's like an adult talking baby talk-i find it moronic and annoying. Maybe it if am age thing, and my tolerance for "cutesypoo" puts me squarely in"old farts-ville"

LOL! I noticed it too just in the last couple of weeks. Seems to be a largely Tumblr thing so far. I think it's younger folks (of which there are many on Tumblr). It doesn't really bother me but it's interesting how fandom language changes. We had squelch, squee, squick - at least this one doesn't begin with 's'! LOL!

I noticed one of the BNF's (at least in terms of fic production) uses it on her tumblr, so perhaps that's it. I hate feeling like an old fart, but it really does bug me. At least the fandom words you mentioned are more like "sounds" than bastardizations of real words.

I love bad grammar and baby talk when not talking seriously about something. (I'm 25 BTW)

Maybe that's it - I've never much liked baby talk. I'm getting used to seeing "feels," but I'm not exactly indifferent to it yet.
