Get it In 1/?

In a world where Jongin is the hottest dance instructor in EXO dance school, and Jongdae’s just trying to keep up. Side SeKris. Because they’re actually my favourite pairing.

“Why am I here again?” Jongdae panics for the umpteenth time as he looks around the dance studio, which was getting filled by the minute by random people with baggy shirts and too much swag.

“Because you’re the best,” Kris flashes his signature creep smile that makes his face look like it went through multiple botox procedures to maintain the unnatural structure. It was blinding.

Jongdae raised his hands to his face in protest, “Censorship, please.”

Kris rolled his eyes and put his bag down, plopping down as well as he began to look around the studio. Jongdae scanned the studio and saw people bending over in weird contorted states. Jongdae’s eyes widened as he pointed towards the group of guys wearing snapbacks and doing random splits at the back of the studio. It was a bloody beginners class. Noticing the tension in Jongdae’s form, Kris jumped up with a little hop, nudging Jongdae with his foot, bringing him back into reality. “C’mon let’s stretch.”

“Kris, I know you think you can dance.” Jongdae paused to catch his breath. He edged in closer to Kris’ face, tiptoeing as he did so.

“I don’t think we’re supposed to be here. There are people who could be in Cirque du Soleil. The last time I stretched was to get potato chips from the kitchen cabinet,” Jongdae’s breath ghosted over Kris’ collarbone, making him tingle rather unattractively.

At that moment, a tall, lithe body started to walk towards them, giving them a gesture that could suggest that he was fiddling with the hem of his pants or, waving. His eyes turned into little crescents as he paused in his track.

“Hi Sehun,” Kris snapped out of his very unflattering position and waved shyly. Jongdae thought he was going to throw up. Sehun, or whatever his name was, joined the contortionism enthusiasts at the back of the studio.

Kris’ smile was interrupted by a very pissed Jongdae, eyeing him down (literally) with a vicious look that hinted at possible murderous intent.

“Don’t tell me it’s cos of him that I am about to become a sacrifice for comedic relief in this god-forsaken class,” Jongdae exasperatedly sighed, arms akimbo.

Kris flashed him another smile.

It was 10 minutes past 6, and lesson was supposed to begin at 6. Jongdae fiddled with his phone as he watched from the corner of the studio, a failing attempt at copulation.

The tall awkward man is approaching another tall and awkward man #2; Jongdae used his best Wild VS Man narrator voice as he observed the mating ritual between Kris and Sehun. It was something that could potentially be useful in the future, for undisclosed causes. Before his experiment could continue, he was unfortunately interrupted by a shouting voice that resonated throughout the room. Kris scurried over to where Jongdae was sitting, nudging him again with his foot. Jongdae shot him a dirty look and mouthed a ‘busy’ as he continued typing into his iPhone.

Applause erupted across the studio as a rather attractive man, wearing nothing but a wifebeater and addidas trackpants, saunter into the studio and setting up the sound system. Jongdae wondered why people were cheering for the AV team. Really, setting up the system is easy.

“Alright, let’s start!” The man in the wifebeater clicked something and music that was too distasteful for Jongdae to even describe began playing from the speakers that were right behind him.

Oh. He’s the instructor. F.U.C.K.

“Kris, Kris, Kris, Kris-” Jongdae wanted to cry, he was going to cry. Maybe he was already crying.

“Chill Jongdae, just try to enjoy yourself.” Kris started doing something, Jongdae’s going to assume it was stretching and not an attempt at reaching his kneecaps.

“Let’s start with bouncing and one two three!” The attractive man shouted with all too much gusto. The whole room suddenly bursts into rhythmic popping of the chest, and Jongdae finds it hard to find the beat. He finds himself bouncing at the wrong times, sticking out like a sore thumb when the rest of the class bounces down and his head is sticking out. He feels eyes on him and decides to concentrate on his mirror image, which proved to be a bad idea as he locked eyes with the attractive man. Jongdae just flashes an apologetic smile as he bounces back down, as the rest of the class bounces up.

Turns out tall awkard man #2 can dance really well, and that the beginners class was technically a place for the pros to just have fun. Not Jongdae’s idea of fun, but what gives. He was stuck in this place for the next hour.

“We’re going to move to choreo!” The attractive man moves back to his laptop and pauses the music.

He moves back to the centre of the room and begins to roll his chest.

“Right, pop, left, in!” He demonstrates the roll in slow motion, before going full speed and making it look like he had no bones to begin with. Everyone else follows along seamlessly, even Kris. Jongdae felt betrayed. They were supposed to suck together.

Jongdae moved his right shoulder. His left shoulder follows. He looks like he had just popped his shoulders out of their sockets. Bracing himself, he tried again.

“Right,” Jongdae mouthed as he tried his best, tongue peeking out of red lips. As he tried to pop his chest, he found his whole body tripping forward. His sneakers made a squeak, grabbing the attention of the entire back row of serious dancers. Jongdae caught himself before he fell, flashing apologetic smiles whilst gritting his teeth. He reminds himself to get revenge on Kris later. A lifetime’s supply of potato chips sounded good. Unknowingly, a smile caught on and he locked eyes with the attractive man again. He smiles back, with a hint of amusement.

“Great,” Jongdae murmured, feeling like his ego had just taken a smashing to the ground.

“So, it’s slow fast slow, and stop! Then lock and then jump,” The instructor demonstrates, explaining in another language that Jongdae assumes to be Korean.

“What is he saying?” Jongdae leaned sideways, whispering to Kris who had his eyebrows furrowed in concentration.

“He means-” Kris tries to explain before deafening music plays again and the whole class starts moving.

Jongdae completely caught off-guard, just begins to walk in the direction that the relative population was moving in. When they went right, Jongdae just hid behind the guy in front of him and moved right. He was getting the hang of hip-hop.

“Okay, so now the front row down so I can see the back row!” The instructor drops the bomb casually and begins to restart the music. Jongdae panics and in a moment of fear, runs to the middle row and squats down. Hiding his face, he pretends to sway to the music like whatever awkward man #2 was doing as Kris dances with the back row of people, watching him with a quizzical look.

“Awesome! Now the front row!” The instructor says it again, but this time not going back to adjust the music. Jongdae can’t just run to the back again. As the front row started to bob to the beat, Jongdae bobs along and slowly saunters to the back with the most swag he can muster. Right before the choreo starts, Jongdae squats almost surreptitiously down right beside Kris, who was holding in his laughter.

“You should consider becoming a ninja,” Kris chuckles, eyes almost watering from laughing. Jongdae doesn’t respond, because he sees the instructor walking towards him.

“You just walked to the back again,” The instructor pointed out KINDLY, as he smiled.

Again. Oh, he saw me the first time. Dammnit.

“Really? You must be mistaken!” Jongdae brushes the comment off with a non-committal shrug and a series of raspberry sounds that were just oddly suspicious.

The instructor simply furrows his brows, making him more attractive than he already was (somehow), and walks away back to the laptop. Kris falls over laughing. Jongdae could feel his face burning up.

“Good job everyone! See you next time,” the instructor bows and everyone applauses as they take their leave. Jongdae couldn’t wait to bolt out of the studio as well.

“Hey Kris, I see you brought a friend.” The instructor’s voice made Jongdae’s ears perk up as he packed up his stuff. They were right behind him and he wished he had just bolted out when the music stopped.

“Yeah, his name is-”

“Chen! Haha! Hi!” Jongdae jumps straight up, and wiggles over too warmly towards the instructor. He just wants to make sure that he never knows him as Jongdae. He was pretty sure he wasn’t coming back anyways.

“No, you’re-”

“Psst Kris, save the details for later!” Jongdae chirped, slapping Kris’ butt too hard as he yelps in surprise.

The instructor shoots Kris a weird look, watching Kris’ face contort with pain as he forces out a whimper that sounds like an okay.

“Well, I’m Jongin. I hope today was okay for you,” Jongin flashes another deadly attractive smile.

“Yeah, it was fun! I mean, dancing, right up my alley.” Jongdae laughs too awkwardly, and pauses to look at his wrist.

“Oh my look at the time, we better get going!” Jongdae squeezes Kris’ arms and pulls him towards the bags.

“You don’t have a watch-” Jongin points out KINDLY again. Jongdae wonders if his hobbies included observing highly suspicious people, like himself.

“I haven’t talked to Se-” a pair of very menacing eyes cut off Kris’ sentence.

“You’re gonna pay for this Yifan,” Jongdae hisses as he pulls Kris’ long being out of the studio.
