Ahhh yes, I have been in this situation and it is going to be sticky no matter what happens. Since you and your mom seem to agree you will be seen as "The good son" and should be able to reap the benefits :)

I'm sure she'll still be happy to see all her family and friends though.

I sometimes forget that you're younger than me; I always think of you as my age. You're also 2 days older than Matt.

Hope that your Mom's birthday bash - even if it isn't supposed to be acknowledged - is kickass. My mom's 50th was hella fun.
