Chapter 1
Chapter 2

Half an hour of walking found the trio in front of an apartment complex. By the time they arrived Changmin had learnt that both Junsu and Yoochun are older than him by two years, something he found quite hard to believe.

(Junsu: That makes me your hyung! Changmin: Shut up.)

“Yoochun hyung, shouldn’t we be at a coffee shop or something?”

“This place I tell you, Changmin-ah, is the place where you can get the best hot chocolate in the world!” announced Yoochun proudly. (“Topped with marshmallows and whipped cream!!!!!” screeched Junsu on the sidelines)

“This is ridiculous, people live here! I don’t see a Starbucks anywhere here!”

“You’ll see, my dear, dear Changmin-ah.”

Changmin inwardly cringed.

They walked into the building and Junsu punched the lift button with a Cheshire cat grin on his face. Changmin shivered. Junsu must be up to no good.

Five minutes later Changmin changed his mind and thought that he must be the happiest person in the entire world as he nursed a mug of steaming hot chocolate in his slowly thawing palms, topped with marshmallows and whipped cream.

Suddenly, Changmin felt an ominous presence behind him.

“Did you like it?” a voice slithered away to Changmin’s ears.

“Ye… ye… yes…”

“AHA! I THOUGHT SO!”

In a flash, the dark shadow leaped from behind Changmin and engulfed the latter into a choking hug, causing Changmin to nearly drop his mug.

Horrified, Changmin yelped.

“Jae-ah, you really need to stop scaring people, I can still remember how you freaked me out when I first met you.” A new voiced joined in.

While Junsu and Yoochun cackled in the background like a pair of hyenas, The New Voice stuck out his hand to shake Changmin’s.

“Unfortunately, I am the most normal one among the four of us, (“Yunho hyung!!!!” complained the hyenas) and since I’m quite sure that you were abducted by those two over there (“No we didn’t!”), this place is actually our dorm. Since we all go to the same university, we decided to rent an apartment. I am Yunho, by the way. And you are...?”

“Shim Changmin. So you were the person who Junsu originally wanted to send the message to?”

A puzzled Yunho stared at Junsu quizzically for an explanation.

Junsu grinned sheepishly and told Yunho how he meant to message him to go to the park to watch himself and Yoochun sing, but he send it to Changmin instead by accident, therefore ending up in the current situation.

“Well, we became friends anyway. Isn’t that great?” chirped an over-cheerful Junsu.

The room was filled with a deathly silence.

Until the Hugger (Changmin noted to himself warily) decided to erupt into fits of laughter. The contagious act spread to the other four, and soon all five were laughing until their stomachs pained them from doing so any longer.

“Actually, what is your name? I know nothing about you except for the fact that you make good hot chocolate and that you just hugged me for no reason...” Changmin asked the Hugger cautiously, sipping from his mug and staring at the depths of it, for he was intimidated by those pair of cold eyes (which was ironic, considering how he hugged him, which was totally un-cold).

“This 4D kid here (“Formalities, JUNSU-SHI!”) is Kim Jaejoong (“Yah didn’t you hear me?”). Isn’t he the warmest hyung in the world?” squealed Junsu, eager to introduce his friend to Changmin.

Changmin decided to ignore Junsu’s introduction, choosing instead to continue sipping from his mug. Boy was the hot chocolate delicious. He was oblivious to Junsu’s growing pout, however

“What’s wrong?” asked Changmin after he finally grew aware of Junsu’s saddening mood. The others were hiding laughter behind their palms.

“Why didn’t you give me any response?” Junsu asked unhappily.

“Well it wasn’t anything worth answering.”

“Whyyyyyyyy?”

“I would much rather enjoy my very delicious hot chocolate than continue this pointless conservation, which I am quite sure would lead to nothing.”

With that, the other three could no longer hold back their laughter, collapsing onto the ground all together in one heap.

“Group hug!” Junsu declared, his misery a minute ago forgotten, and jumped right onto the other three’s backs. In doing so, he also pushed Changmin into the heap. Although at first Changmin felt awkward on top of three men he hadn’t got to know fully, all awkwardness dissipated as soon as Junsu landed on top of him.

For the first time, Changmin felt like he belonged somewhere. And so he promised himself that he would try his best to maintain this precious newfound friendship.
