adghdjkd not the beach! okay let's derp I mean do thisnaochansenseiMay 5 2011, 12:11:44 UTC
[Yeah, walking the beach where everyone washes up after half-drowning at night, what kind of smart is this? Maybe he's looking for newcomers or something, doesn't matter, because OH %&@$ AHOOL!!!
Hello bushes, remember him? DIVING FOR COVER AGAIN, now with grabbing for a student to pull along with!] HIDE!
[PANIC PANIC WAIT DON'T PANIC STUDENT NEEDS YOU. Naoshi is trembling like you have no idea but he's still got his hands on Homare's shoulders, because there's an instinct there that if the Ahool sees them, he can shove the boy down and make himself the target instead. And he's totally biting his tongue to stop that whimpering that wants to escape him.]
[ Okay, think--think--what to do with a flying creature that you're in no position to snipe? Maybe a rock to the eyes would blind it? But what if it relied on its other senses to track down its prey?
Sitting there as quietly as he can--oh heavens no his heart's beating too loudly it's making him even more paranoid. It's uncomfortable tucking in his legs like that, but they seem safe even if--
He choked back a cry when the Ahool landed right in front of their hiding place. ]
/reminds self this is a PG-13 meme HOW WILL OUR HERODERPS ESCAPE?!naochansenseiMay 5 2011, 15:06:13 UTC
[Naoshi's hands clench tight on Homare's shoulders in terror, but at the same time he's rising to a crouch like a runner's start, both preparing to bolt and to lever Homare lower to the ground, as the Ahool sniffs at the air.
That shed he used when he first arrived is near here, right? It's his only thought, his closest thing to a plan of what to do, besides run, once he bolts.
He gives Homare's shoulders a squeeze -- silent command and reassurance (and maybe farewell) all in one -- eyes never leaving the Ahool, waiting for a sign that it's found them in the bushes, legs shaking but ready to move and play the decoy.]
BY THE STARS OF COURSEnoppo_sempaiMay 5 2011, 16:15:36 UTC
[ He senses the movement--just what is Sensei doing? He'd venture to ask, but stealth is of the essence.
His body tenses as the Ahool shifts, wingtips grazing their hiding place, this close to his nose, and he gasps, and the Ahool twitches again, as if tickled. ]
[Startled, Naoshi hurriedly claps a hand over Homare's mouth (sorry, that might've hurt), but it's too late to take back that gasp. The Ahool turns slowly back their direction and Naoshi's trembling only gets worse as the tension builds--
No don't let it get close don't let it find them both!
The little man tries to shove Homare down with what leverage he has and leaps out of the underbrush, like a pheasant flushed by a hunter, yelling at the top of his lungs as he ducks a giant wing and takes off down the beach.]
COME ON Y-GAAAAAAAAHHHH! [It'd be nice if he could say the screaming was just part of the diversionary tactic, but no, it's just terror at the Ahool wheeling in pursuit.]
He makes a little ] Uwah! [ at being shoved further into the bushes as the Ahool swoops above him. He'd call after his Sensei, but--
Okay, okay, calm down. So he didn't have any weapons on him, and if he tried to call for help he'd get caught too and they'd both be doomed. Oh Sensei! Even he couldn't outrun a flying bat monster.
Right. Grabs a stick and following quietly behind. Maybe he can distract it or set it on fire or something. ]
[Oh stars help him if he wasn't doing this for his student this would be THE WORST IDEA EVER IN ALL HISTORY OF HORRIBLE IDEAS. Naoshi's footsteps crunch frantically across the sand while behind him, all he hears are powerful wingbeats as the Ahool takes to the air and oh geez don't look back just run run RUN RUN!!
Shed, where's his shed, there's a computer in the shed, the Ahool's too big to get in (right?), all he has to do is call for help from the island's combat-types, and then make sure the beast stays focused on him instead of going back for Kanakubo and--
There's a sudden rush of wind behind him. Because this is a clean meme, rather than being caught and turned into dinner before the thread even hits twelve tags, Naoshi is sent tumbling as the Ahool crashes back to earth behind him, missing its target in a dive for its prey but still buffeting the man with the powerful force of its wingbeats. Naoshi screams again but rolls and scrambles back to his feet and there's the shed you beautiful thing you!He tears the door open and
( ... )
[ Tailing that thing even if he's almost sure that the Ahool can hear his heavy footsteps--no wait those are heartbeats.
He knew that Sensei would've wanted him to escape, but damn it if he was going to leave the man behind. All right, Sensei--he'll go along with whatever plan you've managed to come up in between your panic, because hey, at least he has a plan. Was it too late to light his branch on fire?
Not that he has much time to decide, because after clawing at the shed in vain the Ahool decides that tall skinny one hidden among the trees would be an easier catch, and ceases attempts at digging for Naoshi as it flew straight at Homare. ]
[Naoshi hammers those computer keys like a madman; he's got it all running, text and audio and video, blasting every network connection he's aware of with his panicked SOS. Someone will notice, someone will send help, someone--
--the Ahool abandons the shed, and this is actually a bad thing. Naoshi rushes back to the open door with the camera feed still running behind him, horrified by the sight of the monster heading back for the treeline.] NO!
[The ground is littered with rocks here. Naoshi snatches one up and hurls it with all the force he can muster at the Ahool's back. His aim is off given his fright, but he hits the backside of a wing, at least.] KANAKUBO! STAY IN THE TREES! [At least in there, the giant monster won't be able to fly between the crowded trunks or maneuver as well. Naoshi grabs more rocks and throws those, too, not expecting to hurt the Ahool at all, wanting only to reclaim its attention.]
[ Lighting a spark, come on spark heavens that things' going after him come on--come on-- ] Uwah! [ Scrambling backwards as the Ahool nearly claws at him, crying AHOOOOOoooool! in that terrible voice while it tried to squeeze past the trees to get at him.
Well good, at least it stopped paying attention to Sensei. That's--That's a good thing, he thinks as a few of the trees snapped where the Ahool tried to get at him.
--Wait, not fast enough, a tree falls in his way, stunning him just long enough for the Ahool to knock him sideways. ]
oh man why is this a meme this needs to be TDS canon XDnaochansenseiMay 7 2011, 15:26:19 UTC
LEAVE HIM ALONE! [Naoshi's not even aware that he's screaming, that terrified tears are streaming over his cheeks, everything's just blind panic and protective instinct. He can't let Kanakubo get hurt in front of him again, he can't!
The Ahool looms over his student, teeth gleaming in the dark night, and Naoshi ceases to be acting on a vague plan and simply reacts. He races ahead and as the monster bends down to claim a meal, he leaps and throws himself on the beast's lowered shoulders. He grabs at filthy grey fur and those huge batlike ears for purchase, but he is under half its size and the Ahool pays him no more attention than a flea.
...that is until he reaches forward and slams a handful of sand and grit into its face. Suddenly blinded, the Ahool rears back with another of its terrible howls, and Naoshi holds on for dear life as it thrashes from side to side.]
We can plot a gory version of this there if you want. :Dnoppo_sempaiMay 7 2011, 16:15:39 UTC
[ That thing's distracted. Now's his chance! He gets on his feet, ignoring for the moment certain injuries sustained from the attack, braces himself as he hears his Sensei yell and the Ahool rear, then grabs a particularly sharp branch with every intention of thrusting it into--
Right, PG13 meme. The Ahool knocks his weapon back in the struggle and makes a blind swipe at him. ] S--Sensei--! [ Then he does what a well-bred and reasonable young man should never do on a first date: go to first base RAM AGAINST THAT UNBALANCED SUCKER WITH ALL OF YOUR SPINDLY ARCHER'S STRENGTH. ]
