Going back in time!

On Friday night, Chris's mom, Lauren, Becca and I got into our time machine (a Kia minivan) and headed back to 1964. Once we arrived, we saw the Beatles perform their early hits, plus a few later ones. It was incredible.

If only we got to see the real Beatles! But this was the next-best thing. We got to see 1964: The Tribute at the Weinberg Read more... )

Before I read your post, I looked at the 1st photo and was impressed that "Paul" was left-handed and had the same style bass as the real thing. This show comes to my area every summer if I'm not mistaken. If it fits into my schedule/budget, maybe I'll check it out. By the way, although it would have been cool to see the real Beatles in common, it would have been frustrating too because you wouldn't be able to hear them over all the fans screaming.

I've read that they didn't like touring because of the screaming. If you can get to a show, definitely go for it! It really is a lot of fun, and they are very talented and pay attention to detail.

We will definitely go back next year if they come back! Meanwhile, I'll keep my eyes open for upcoming concerts we might enjoy. :-)

They even look like the Beatles (except 'John'). Sounds like a fun show. I wonder what other look/soundalike bands are out there, not just the Beatles. I guess if anybody could play guitar like Jimi Hendrix, he'd be popular in his own right not just as a look-alike, though.

I know there's a Pink Floyd tribute band, and there was a Doors tribute band back in the early 80s; don't know if they're still around. I've never heard of anybody paying tribute to Hendrix, though.
