One of my friends at school is constantly saying "Payton Manning is a horsefaced jackass." You made me think of it.
I remember reading Huck Finn and writing a paper on it. Ugh. We had to write about whether or not it was a racist book, and whether or not it should be taught in public schools. What did you have to write about?
This is college: I have to analyze an episode of "Desperate Housewives" for one of my classes in a five page paper, and for my final project in that class, I'm working with three other people to do a comparative analysis of different eras of prefabricated music... by comparing the Monkees to O-Town (of Making the Band fame). It's not always that sweet. But really... I'm paying HOW much to watch tv?
Our essay was a literary criticism essay using this pain-in-the-ass 12 page article by this random guy to find our arguements. In the article, the guy said that the main theme of the book was Huck struggling between his own morals and the morals of society. We had to either support or reject that opinion using quotes from the article and the book. I started off rejecting it just to be negative, but i ended up getting a decent essay out of it.
And I hope my college assignments are just like yours :-)
UGH I hate literary criticism. I had to do it for my junior year research paper and it was BULLSHIT. We had to do it senior year, too, and it was actually pretty cool and my paper was amazing... but that doesn't mean I liked it.
Haha. Just remember that college is not always that glorious.
