Nothing , but nothing tastes better than Cretan Olive Oil. I wont use any other than Greek oil in my cooking as I so much prefer the taste of it to other nations oils.
Thee are many of my friends who cant tell the difference between Spanish Italian and Greek Olive oil - how strange - as they taste completely different to me. But far and away the best of all is Cretan first pressing genuine stuff.
And it's not only the taste. The smell conjures up the sun and the blue skies, the pine trees and the whitewashed buildings......
Aaargh, you're going to make me cry in a minute with nostalgia.

Spanish always tastes very fruity to me, and I love that. I admit that I don't have a particular loyalty to the country of origin, I like love olive oil of all kinds.
