That is such a touching story. Of course, it's because it was in Canada that anything compassionate happened. You'd never read a story like that in the U.S. ...even though I wish we would.

I'm dating a guy right now who is a little more open and comfortable about showing affection in public, within limits of course (holding hands, putting his head on my shoulder in a darkened theatre, etc.) and it's disappointing to see the amount of scowls on the faces around us sometimes.

Amazıng that here ın Turkey, a moderate secular country where 98% of the populatıon ıs Muslım, I have seen more male to male affectıon than I have ever wıtnessed ın the Unıted States. Indeed, Istanbul ıs remarkably open, surpassıng my expectatıons for an orıental country.
