Well, it's been a good day for Canada. The election really has worked out very well, with something to feel good about in most areas of the country, geographic or political. Not surprisingly, and certainly justified, the Liberal Party has been sent packing to 'clean house' in Opposition. The Conservatives will form a minority government with Steven ( Read more... )

Spent the day digesting the news from back home. I do believe this parliament will be what the country needs - it should give enough time for the Liberals to pick a new governing class while Layton and clan keep the Conservative Right in check. I suspect that Mr. Harper will be on his best behaviour as he seeks to prove to Canadians that he is not the right wing radical the Martinites painted him as. If he is successful I would not be surprised to see him call a sudden election to snag a majority.

Of course!! I've been adding a couple each week - of the really talented writers in here. And you are certainly one of those.
The new identity is just a way of cutting back to the people I'm really interested in when scrolling through 'friends' postings - without 'defriending' anyone from 'tomcan'. I guess it's 'phase-2' of my LJ, as my interests shift a bit. Actually, I thought you were already in my "A-List" - you are now, Jon.
