I'm growing to be very wary of churches that seem to preach the merits of a man who wasn't Christ almost as loudly as they preach Christ, or churches that treat the founder almost in a godlike manner. For example, I attend the Salvation Army and I am constantly hearing about William Booth, the man who started it. I may be biased on this since my ( Read more... )

I really have to agree with you on this matter. Altho some people do amazing things - its only thru God that they are able - you only see those people get the credit the majority of the time.

I seem to recall a certain person who almost got sucked into the Seventh Day Adventists! :-) Im glad your a researcher - you teach alot of people alot of things, you certainly have me!

Yeah, I have some major problems with churches that preach about men/women reather than God...and ones that teach from catechisms more than from the Bible itself.

But Calvinism is patently false. Their doctrine goes against clear teachings of the Bible and they have support for what they believe. Can you clarify this? DO you mean they have NO support for what they believe?

Church stopped being about God long ago hun.
You'd do better to find him under your couch than in a church.
