I've been thinking, if God is the center of our lives as He is supposed to be, then why is it I can go through entire days without telling someone about Him. I don't mean going off and preaching to random people all the time, I mean, why do we find ways to say things without alluding to God? I know that I'm terrible for this. When I'm talking to a ( Read more... )

I am always amazed when you write something in here. You always seem to be writing something relavent to what I am feeling or what's going on with me and God. I would have to say yeah you are very right, many of us fail to have God as the center of our life, and not stand up for him in our everyday situations. I remember about two years ago I was in florida with my church, we were going out to eat and while we were there we noticed that the waiter there had the initials J C tattoed on the back of his leg, so we were wondering, does that stand for Jesus Christ? so I ended up asking him when he came back, does that tatoo on the back of your leg stand for Jesus Christ? and to our dismay he shoock his head with a smile and a laugh saying it wasn't as if to brush of the idea of Jesus being in his life, kind of to let us know that he wasn't a Christian, or if he was, he was not one who lived it out. This really bothered my heart, and also everyone at the table. I felt led to talk to him about it, to ask him about how Jesus was in his life, ( ... )

That's so true...and I see it in my own life as well. It's as if we try to appear "spiritual" without sounding "religious". Now, God doesn't want us to be "relgious" because he condemned the Pharisees for their legalism. But as you say, if Jesus is truly the center of our life, if we truly appreciate the incredible things he's done for us, and if we truly realize how much other people are missing out on those things, that should be enough to make our passion bubble over naturally and share this Jesus with others ( ... )

Thanks for posting that. I feel that until I can be a power of example consistently or fairly consistently I shouldn't be going around telling everyone that I am a Christian. Yeah yeah. I know....Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven.

If the subject comes up naturally and obviously I will talk about my relationship with Christ. But it has to be natural and obvious to me. Otherwise it can get quite obnoxious to those who do not wish to hear. And Bible Thumpers are what give Christians a bad name. So I don't wish to be one of them. Usually, if I witness to anyone it is to someone who is really hurting and needy. They are the ones that are ready to listen.

Thanks again for this post. It got me thinking.
