It's amazing how many details are packed into this story in regards to the actions and repercussions of every major action Atlantis has been involved in. The Hoffman disaster, the waking of the Wraith, the millions of deaths from the Replicators. In each instance you've provided balanced views form each side.
I love your Ronon voice in the trail and as main narrator. I was struck by John's musings of hat Ronon might have become if his world had not been destroyed. His defenses has been wonderful. It was nice to see Holland and hear his own conflicts about the impact of Atlantis . And you brought back Keras
Thanks! Ronon is such a great character - a great warrior, but smart and full of so much potential. It was fun to cast him into that different role and explore a little bit what he might have been, or who he is outside of his role as fighter. So much of what Atlantis tried to do was good, but complicated situations and complicated reactions lead to far-flung, complex consequences where nothing is just black and white. Which is probably why it took me so long to write this story!!
I love how you let us see Ronon trying to think like Sheppard....thinking what would Sheppard do in a certain situation and trying to follow. The Ronon and Rodney snark is excellent. Ronon also trying to make Rodney react using Sheppard techniques. Rodney hearing what Ronon says and picking up on something not toatlly important to the conversation and Ronon bringing him back to the important point is so well done. Excellent chapter again hon.
Wow - no action left unturned. You've really hit on all that Atlantis has been involved in. It really is an amazing look at the complex issue of accountability when trying to do the right things goes wrong or goes right but with a high cost. The emotional investment of each character in this drama comes across strongly.
I think you did an awesome job of pulling off a story that examined all these issues without a break in the tension or drama. While "Inquisition" had its moments as an episode it was fairly flat IMHO. This, on the other hand, is a riveting and smart high-stakes drama with no shortage of action (not to mention the Shep Whump, too.)
I am also especially enjoying seeing Ronon here, both the parts from his POV and John's observation of him in action. It's a great use of his character.
When I started diving into this, there was SO MUCH material - so much stuff that Atlantis has been involved in that could be addressed here. It was hard to decide where to draw the line on what to include and what to leave out. I wish Ronon and Teyla had had more say in "Inquisition." I think that would have added a whole other dimension to that episode that we didn't get to see, but one that is vital to the Stargate: Atlantis world.
